How to Purchase Alpacas
Now that the country is starting to catch on to the fact that alpacas are an investment you can watch grow and that their fiber is a valuable commodity, there are several places expounding on how to buy alpacas.
Some sites tell you how to get "free" alpacas by taking advantage of tax benefits while others provide a data base of alpacas for sale that you can search or browse.
From my perspective both have advantages well worth exploring.
As an alpaca breeder, I think the financial experts can best explain how our income tax structure can be used to help you buy alpacas. One site containing much of this information can be found on the Alpaca Owners and Breeders (AOBA) site, just click on the "Financial Aspects" tab...
If you are seriously looking at alpacas for sale, there are virtually thousands of web sites that each list their alpacas for sale. Looking through all these sites is virtually impossible and having the ability to make accurate comparisons is equally difficult. There are some sites now that actually combine alpacas for sale from different farms all in one location - which makes it much easier to see and compare alpacas for sale. One such site is called Buy and Sell Alpacas. This site goes beyond what some others do by establishing criteria an alpaca for sale must meet in order to be placed in predetermined categories. This site promotes the communication between the owner and the buyer, in other words you are not dealing with an alpaca broker. Check it out...!
